With over 25 years of experience as a German-trained Master Dental Technician, I specialise in all aspects of tooth color appearance from a practical and scientific perspective. I'm the inventor of the eLAB system, the first shade matching software in dentistry to deliver patient-personal mixing recipes. The eLAB system has gained worldwide recognition, revitalising instrumental shade measurement in dentistry. Since 2009, I have been an international lecturer in aesthetic dentistry, delivering hundreds of courses and lectures globally.
Dental Research and Practical Applications
I’m currently a PhD researcher at Leeds University's School of Design under Professor Stephen Westland, focusing on computational color science in dentistry. My work bridges the gap between advanced color science and practical dental applications. With a background in dental laboratory work, I understand that the perception of a dental restoration depends on both subjective factors and the physical properties of dental tissues and materials. Today, I utilize color science to thoroughly investigate and develop practical solutions that benefit practitioners in their everyday work.
